AT&T and Verizon opt out of 50GB Dropbox promo for the Samsung Galaxy S3

If you were planning on picking up the Samsung Galaxy S3 from AT&T or Verizon, you might want to take note that both carriers have opted out of Dropbox. For those unfamiliar, the Samsung Galaxy S3 was announced a while back and came with the added benefit of a free 50GB Dropbox account for the next two years. Given that Dropbox for Android 4.0 has recently been updated with support for video streaming, this would be an incredibly useful feature to use on AT&T and Verizon?s LTE network.

However it seems that according to the Dropbox support page, both carriers have opted out of this free storage for whatever reasons. Granted this isn?t exactly a deal-breaker, but for those who utilize cloud storage heavily and would have loved the free 50GB cloud storage, you might want to go to a different carrier for your Galaxy S3, or purchase the handset unlocked and off-contract at its full retail price. AT&T and Verizon have yet to give their official statement on the matter, so check back with us as we will update this post when they do. So, any of you guys planning to get the Galaxy S3 from a different carrier because of this?
