Usually, window sills are ignored when cleaning as they normally have curtains or window coverings in front. Dust on the painted window sill should be cleaned on a regular basis so that the sun doesn't dry out the dirt into the paint. Clean the window sills from time to time to avoid dust mix with the paint.

Step by step procedure to windows cleanup:

• The first step is to remove curtains or window blinds to get them out of the way. Remove all the items that are on the window sill.
• Next step is to use a vacuum cleaner to suck up the dirt on the sill and in the track of window frames.
• Mix dishwasher soap and 4 cups of lukewarm water in a spray bottle and use the solution on the windows sill and let it be for 10 to 15 minutes.
• Then take a dish rag and scrub it on the window sill until it is clean. With the help of a toothbrush, clean the corners of the sill. Do not scrub harder, as it might spoil the paint on it. Once everything is done, dry the window sill with paper towels.
• If there are any hard stains, mix a cup of rubbing alcohol with a cup of water and spray it on the hard stains. Scrub the stain with a scrubber and then wipe it dry. If there is any moisture left on the sill, use cotton pads to soak it up.
